Perhaps we’ve never shared our story in front of such a large audience before, but it’s time to shed some light on how and why we started our family car cleaning business.

N&R Car Interior Valet entered the market in 2019, founded by me, Rayna, and my partner in life, Nasko. It all began as a joke. We wanted to bring in additional income, have more flexibility, spend more time with our family, and, of course, work together. Wherever we have worked, we’ve always been together, dreaming of a job that would bring us pleasure while earning us a bit more money, as we both worked part-time. Both of us are car enthusiasts. Nasko has a passion for Formula 1, and I simply love cars. For almost a year, we talked daily about finding something we loved that could also bring us some extra income. One day, while we were working together, it hit me: we both love cars and enjoy cleaning them on weekends. I told Nasko: “We should clean cars! But only the interiors!” He looked at me skeptically and said, “This won’t work. There are so many people doing this already.

How will we stand out?” I countered with arguments about our love for cars, how we could be different, and the fact that we had nothing to lose by trying. Eventually, I convinced him. The very next day, we went to the nearest car cleaner store, bought what we needed, and were super excited (at least I was). We didn’t have a Facebook business page or a website yet. I decided to post on social media, offering interior car cleaning services at home, and waited. Within a few hours, our messenger was flooded with inquiries about our availability and pricing. Initially, we charged between £7-£10 for an interior cleaning, which included vacuuming (sometimes taking up to two hours if it was very dirty), cleaning the dashboard, doors, and windows. We traveled to various areas around Malvern, including Worcester , Upton, and Ledbury. We loved the work so much that we didn’t mind the low fees. Clients often suggested we increase our rates due to the quality of our work, but we didn’t think much of it at the time. Within a month, we started receiving requests for more complex services like seat washing, stain removal, and mold treatment. These inquiries guided us toward expanding our offerings. Nasko began practicing seat washing, and we invested in the necessary equipment.

Our customers were thrilled with the results and asked where they could leave reviews, prompting us to start our Facebook business page. We are very proud of this page, as we have always been genuine, and people appreciate it. Positive feedback poured in, motivating us to continue upgrading our services and delivering what our clients needed—almost brand new car interiors. We believe it’s crucial for car interiors to be clean because that’s where we spend our time with our families and loved ones. Despite the joy and additional income our business brought, we faced many challenges common to small businesses. Several times, we were on the verge of giving up due to difficulties, including sleep deprivation, missed meals, and sometimes sacrificing time with our children. However, we never regretted our decision to pursue our dreams. Now, after five years, we have expanded significantly.

We offer over five different services, have our own cleaning facility, a mobile service, and a modern website where customers can book appointments. Our journey from car lovers to successful business owners has been incredible. This is our story in short—two passionate individuals achieving more than they ever dreamed of.
